II était une fois, sur les côtes de Loango (Congo-Brazzaville), sous le grand baobab, en pleine lune, un enfant qui venait de naître. Cette nuit-là, sa mère et sa grand'mère : Ma'm'kayi et Tchissimbu tchi M'm'kayi, toutes deux conteuses renommées, ainsi que son peuple ont su que cet enfant serait très spécial. Il apportait avec lui quelque chose de très important : sa culture qu'il partagerait avec tous; et son amour, qu'il montrerait à tous. Le garçon devint un homme et alla à travers le monde.
En juin 2001, il arriva sur la Côte du soleil à Gibsons, C.-B. (Canada), rempli des dons
d'Afrique, dons du Congo qui circulent dans ses veines et sortent de sa bouche en forme de contes précieux; contes qu'il donne de plein cœur aux affamés et aux assoiffés de culture et rire africains, les remplissant de JOIE, d' AMOUR et de RESPECT.
Je lui ai demandé une fois :
-Quand as- tu commencé à conter ? « Depuis le ventre de ma mère. »
-Pourquoi es-tu devenu conteur ? « Ça, c'est une autre longue histoire. »
-Pourquoi toi, au lieu d'une femme? « Je l'ai déjà raconté partout dans le monde.»
-Dis-le-moi, s'il te plaît! « Eh bien! ...mmm...Je te le dirais quand je te reverrai. »
Alors, il sourit et s'en alla en me tapotant l'épaule.Jean-Pierre conte en anglais et en français à des auditoires de divers âges. Il offre également à des gens de tous les âges et il veut bien voyager, selon le besoin.
| Once upon a time, on the Coast of Loango (Congo- Brazzaville) under the big Baobab tree, in the moon light, a child was born. On that night, his mother, Ma'mkayi, his grand mother, Tchssimbu tchi M'mkayi (both great storyteller) and his people knew this born child would be special. He would share his culture and show his love for all mankind.. The boy became a man and went all over the world.
In June 2001, he found his way to the Sunshine Coast, Gibsons BC (Canada). With him he brought gifts from Africa. The gifts of Congo coursed through his veins and flowed out of his mouth in the form of precious stories. Those stories flow to the hungry - those hungry for African culture and laughter, filling them with JOY, LOVE and RESPECT. He gives these things from his heart.
Jean Pierre tells in English and French to audiences of all ages, offers workshops to participant of all ages and is willing to travel.
I once met him and asked:
- When did you start telling stories? "Since my mother's womb."
- Why did you become a storyteller? "That's another long story."
- Why you, instead of a women? "I already told it allover the world."
-Please, tell me. "Well !...Uh !... I'll tell you when I see you again."
And then he smiled, tapped my shoulder and left. |
