Maria grew up in Poland with six siblings whom she often entertained by storytelling. She chose a career in nutritional chemistry and journalism, but after moving to Victoria B.C. in 1989, she became active in storytelling circles, and has worked as a teacher and artist of verbal and visual expression. Maria presents original and traditional tales in English, Polish and Esperanto, performing at diverse venues for audiences of all ages, and giving workshops for adults and children.
