Ria is a South Slave Métis woman born in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. She graduated from the Centre for Indigenous Theatre Summer School North 2005 and 2006 programs, which included performing on stage for a live audience.

This training kick started her Storytelling journey. Her stories are all part of personal experiences either passed down orally through her grandmother and mother or her own first hand accounts and interpretations.

Métis Love Song - Spoken word. This is a story about my grandmother's amazing life. 20 minutes

Reincarnation - Spoken word. A story about her mother being a reincarnation of her older sister that passed away 2 weeks before she was born. 20 minutes

Be Careful What You Wish For, Thrice - Spoken word. Three coincidences that are woven into Ria's life bringing knowledge only when it was time to reveal. 30 minutes

Grey Mountain - Spoken word. Ria's vision and lessons on Grey Mountain. 20 minutes

The Nunnery - Spoken word. A fantastical story about a haunted bed and breakfast. 20 minutes.

The Eaglet - a Clowning story. Not one spoken word, similar to Bol mask theatre work. A story about an Eaglet on a journey, who matures and has to raise and let go of its own eaglet. 20 minutes

Ria is Parks Canada Agency employee at Wood Buffalo National Park. She is currently a Communications, Visitor Services and Heritage Presentation Officer soon to be a Visitor Experience officer. She started working for the Park in June 2000. Over the years, she has put together and delivered many outreach programs for grades Kindergarten to Six, reaching about 2000 children a year in eight different communities. She also run the visitor's centre over the summer months, providing guided hikes and special events to the public. She speaks to all ages and is willing to travel.
