Bruce Carmody Bruce Carmody

Bruce has been delighting children and adults with his storytelling for over 15 years. He is a member of The Storytellers School of Toronto and Newmarket Storytree

Bruce spent 35 years as a teacher, vice principal and principal in the Scarborough elementary school system, ten years as principal in French immersion schools. In 1995 he received the W.R. McGillivray Award from Canadian Parents for French for his work in promoting the teaching of French as a second language in Ontario.

An interest in early literacy development  led Bruce into the world of the storyteller. Since then he has shared stories with thousands of children in his own schools as well as in other schools where he was frequently an invited guest. He has presented workshops for teachers and interested adults on the art of storytelling.

Bruce is also the author/illustrator of a series of books for beginning readers in French. To date 5 titles in the Monsieur Lapin series have been published. He is also the Design Editor for Storytellers of Canada-Conteurs du Canada's newsletter Le Raconteur.

Now that he has retired from full-time employment in education Bruce is available to share his love of stories with schools across Ontario
